The boy’s body was ultimately transported to the Chief Medical Examiner’s Office in Washington, DC for an autopsy.
Haselden was arrested following the initial investigation, while Thrasher was taken into custody on Monday, July 25 by sheriff’s deputies.
Both were charged with:
- First-degree child abuse resulting in the death of a minor less than 13;

- First-degree child abuse resulting in severe physical injury;
- Sex abuse of a minor;
- Second-degree child abuse: custodian;
- Neglect of a minor.
Haselden was also charged with first- and second-degree rape.
Both are being held at the Washington County Sheriff's Office Detention Center without bond.
Further investigation determined that two other minor children - a 2-year-old boy and a 3-year-old girl - were also present at the White Pine Drive home at the time of the incident.
The boy was taken to the Children’s National Hospital, and has since been released. Both are now in the care of the Washington County Department of Social Services.
